What FunnyCam does

FunnyCam applies live face effects and records videos. Face landmark detection and visual rendering happen on your device. FunnyCam does not upload your camera frames, face landmarks, recorded videos or microphone audio to our servers.

Information we collect

Account information

If you sign in with email or Google, Firebase Authentication processes your email address, display name, profile photo URL when provided, authentication provider and a unique user ID. We store your user ID, email, display name, profile photo URL, authentication provider and account timestamps in Cloud Firestore for account management. Guest mode creates an anonymous Firebase identifier but does not create a FunnyCam profile document.

Diagnostics

Production versions use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash stack traces, relevant app state, device and operating-system information, session diagnostics and a Crashlytics installation identifier. We use this information only to diagnose failures and improve reliability. FunnyCam does not attach your Firebase account ID to crash reports.

Effect catalog requests

The app requests the FunnyCam effect catalog from Cloud Firestore and can download effect assets from Firebase Storage. These services receive technical request data and, when you are signed in, may receive your Firebase user ID as part of authenticated requests.

Camera, microphone and videos

Camera access is required for live effects. Microphone access is used only when you enable sound recording. Completed videos are saved to your device's media gallery. Local preferences and downloaded effects remain on your device. If you use Android's share action, the destination you select handles the shared video under its own privacy terms.

How we use information

• Provide sign-in, account management and password reset.
• Deliver and update the effects catalog.
• Protect the service from abuse and maintain security.
• Diagnose crashes and improve app reliability.

We do not sell personal information. FunnyCam contains no advertising SDK and does not use your information for targeted advertising.

Service providers and transfers

FunnyCam uses Google Firebase services for authentication, profile storage, effect delivery and crash reporting, and Google Identity Services for Google sign-in. These providers process information on our behalf to operate the app. Data may be processed in countries other than your own and is encrypted in transit.

Retention and deletion

Account profile data is retained while your account remains active. You can delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes the FunnyCam profile document and Firebase Authentication account. Videos saved to your device are not deleted automatically because they are under your device control.

You can also submit a request from our account deletion page. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days. Limited information may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention or legal obligations. Crash diagnostics follow Firebase's configured retention practices.

Children

FunnyCam is intended for a general audience aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided account information, contact us so we can delete it.

Your choices

You may use guest mode, disable microphone recording, remove camera or microphone permission in Android Settings, delete local videos, sign out, or delete your account. Removing camera permission prevents the app's primary camera feature from working.
